If you have followed the call tracking implementation guide but can't see the Delacon tracking number swapping on your website, please review below troubleshooting steps.
- Check that the Delacon tracking code is running on the website
-> Perform the test outlined in step 4 of this guide to check that the Delacon tracking code is running on your website.
- Check the details of the Delacon tracking code are correct
-> Check that the MID and CID values match the service that has been set up under your account. There might be typos in the digits or accidental spaces. Ensure the tracking code is not altered in any way. For detailed information, please review Step 1. Determine the tracking code of this guide again.
- Check the business phone number field in the Delacon portal contains the correct number
-> The tracking code will search your website for the business phone number entered in the Delacon portal. Ensure that the business phone number field in the Delacon portal contains the number that is displayed on your website and align the formatting. This may include the use of brackets, hyphens and country codes. For more information about the business phone number field, please review this guide.
- Check the tracking type and extra tracking criteria
-> Review the tracking type or extra tracking criteria set up for this service and ensure your testing scenario caters to the selected tracking type. For example, if the service is set to track Google Paid leads only, ensure your test simulates a Google Paid referral.
- Clear cache and cookies, use incognito browser
-> If you have been previously visiting the website that you are testing, existing cookies might cause the tracking number not to swap out. Ensure you are testing in an incognito browser, or clear your cache and cookies.
- Number displayed as an image
-> If the number itself is not hardcoded into the source page of the website, but instead appears in an image, the tracking code will not be able to identify the number and exchange it with our tracking numbers. If the number is used within an image, please review this guide for swapping an image.
- Site's content security policy
-> The website's content security policy can interfere with or block the Delacon tracking code. In the console, check for any error messages and amend the policy to allow our code.
- A/B testing
-> If you are using A/B testing, check that your test scenario caters for the testing parameters. More info on A/B testing can be found here.
If none of above steps have resolved the issue, please contact Delacon Support at support@delaconcorp.com to review further.
