In telephony systems, DTMF stands for Dual Tone, Multi Frequency. These are the audible tones that are played when individual buttons (0-9, #, *) on a telephone keypad are pressed, which allow callers to select options on various systems. Delacon uses DTMF in several ways;
- In Delacon hosted products, DTMF allows selection of the appropriate options such as the correct department to be transferred to in an IVR, or to enable/disable certain features such as call recording.
- In externally hosted products, Delacon can capture the DTMF tones entered by the caller to enhance the reporting of the call to better understand the caller’s journey.
As DTMF is a common worldwide standard there is no additional configuration needed to allow use of these features.
