Introduction
The purpose of this document is to serve as a step-by-step guide for the creation and implementation of custom tags via the Signal Tag UI.
Tag Selection Screen
Within the Signal Data Hub UI, under the </> Tags section of the Outputs portion in the left-hand nav, select the Add a Tag button:
From here, you will be able to search by Vendor, Product or Tag Name, or Client-side or Server-side integrations, and select the desired Partner needed from the catalog:
Delacon Tag Definition Page
Here you will find the Partner description, Product descriptions, along with Tag offerings and their descriptions:
Clients are responsible for configuring their site’s pages and how the tags will be implemented on their site’s pages. Clients can do this by visiting the Sources tab, and selecting the Add button, where they will be instructed to select the type of page or event that will need to be added. Using common URL patterns and wildcarding via asterisks (**), client’s can identify groupings of pages; examples including All Pages, Product or Category Pages, or Confirmation Pages only.
Additionally, in order to pass dynamic variables from the client’s site back to the desired vendors, clients are responsible for configuring and building their Data Elements and conditional Events. Clients can do this by visiting the Data tab, and then selecting either Add Data Element or Add Event. From here, clients will be directed to name and configure the desired data element or event to be passed using either Jquery or Javascript. (Signal’s Client Services members are available to assist in any configuration inquiries from the clients when building the desired data element or event.) Once configured, the data elements and events can be assigned to the appropriate pages, and then selected when configuring the desired vendor tag for passing the dynamic values.
Client-Side Integration
Signal provides Client-Side Integrations whereby the client-side mark-up is templatized and optimized, and data is delivered through the browser. This option does not provide the same benefits as Server-Direct integrations and therefore should only be used in the event Server-Direct is not available.
(To inquiry about Server-Direct & its capabilities, please contact our support team.)
- Delacon to discuss with client, the needs for tag configuration & implementation.
- Delacon support will provide ClientX with any required parameters to below tag fields (i.e.- Publisher & Pixel ID)
