Introduction
The Call Block service enables you to block/blacklist unwanted and unsolicited inbound calls related to your Service/Customer ID (CID).
While blocked callers will not connect to your end point, the calls will still:
- appear in the call log with any associated data. The call duration and answer point field will be empty and the answer status will show as busy,
- be charged the minimum call charge,
- be pushed into 3rd party platforms based on completed integrations,
- but won't trigger a notification email if enabled.
Setup
Step 1
Log into the Delacon Portal and navigate to Configuration -> Call Block.
Step 2
To block a number, please click 'Add New Number'.
Step 3
If you want to block the number from calling a particular service, you can select the service from the 'Company' dropdown list. If you want to block the number from calling all your services, simply click on the 'Select All' checkbox.
Step 4
Within the number type drop-down menu select "Other". Then input the number you would like to block but replace the area and country code with * (eg *2 9212 3456). This is to ensure that the number is blocked across all its various formats (eg local format 02 9212 3456 or international format +612 9212 3456)
You can also use * as a wildcard entry to replace any digits within the number. For example, if you want to block all callers calling from NSW numbers, you can add the number type as *2********. The number of * will need to correspond to the number of digits a phone number has. For Australian numbers, this will be 10 digits.
To block all callers from an undefined (suppressed) caller ID, please contact the Delacon Support team, who can set this up for your account.
Step 5
Click on 'Confirm'. You will now see a list of services and numbers blocked across each of those services at the bottom. If you would ever want to unblock a number, all that you need to do is to click on the 'Remove' button at the end of the row.
You are able to block as many numbers as you’d like.
If you would like further assistance, please feel free to contact Delacon support.
