Introduction
This integration allows Delacon to push calls generated by Microsoft ads against a conversion goal in your Microsoft Ads account. This enables you to understand which campaigns and keywords generated phone calls and the Microsoft Ads cost associated with that specific phone call.
Prerequisites
Ensure that Auto-tagging of Microsoft Click ID is enabled in your Microsoft Ads account. This will append a unique click ID to your ads, which Delacon will use to upload calls against your conversion goal. Review this guide on how to enable auto-tagging.
Setup
Part I: Create an offline conversion goal in your Microsoft Ads account.
Part II: Authorise Delacon to upload data to your Microsoft Ads account. This step is only required once for each Microsoft Ads account or MCC account.
Part III: Map your Delacon campaigns (CIDs) to your Microsoft Ads accounts. This step is required for each new CID.
Part I: Create an offline conversion goal in your Microsoft Ads account
Delacon Conversions will be pushed against an offline conversion goal in your Microsoft Ads account. To create this conversion goal, please complete below steps:
Step 1
Log into your Microsoft Ads account and click on 1. Tools and then 2. Conversion Goals
Step 2
Click on "+Create" to add a new goal.
Step 3
Navigate through the setup process:
1. Select "Offline" and click on Next.
2. For Goal Category select "Pageview" from the dropdown menu and for Goal Type click on "Offline Conversion" so that it is highlighted.
3. Give the conversion goal a name that will help you identify what it relates to. For Revenue, we recommend choosing "Each conversion action has the same value" and assign a default value.
Under Advanced Settings, you can leave all default settings or adjust them based on your requirements.
Click Save and Next to create the goal and then continue with the mapping in the Delacon portal.

Troubleshooting
1. Microsoft Advertising API Service not enabled
Issue: If Delacon Support has identified an issue with missing permission for Microsoft Advertising API Service, please follow below resolution steps
Resolution Summary: The error is due to the IT admins locking their tenants and not allowing apps to be used without their explicit consent. Sometimes the IT admins of some companies lock the directory (aka tenant) such that no new service (or application) can gain access without their approval.
The page that controls these permissions in the Azure portal is documented there: Configure how users consent to applications - Microsoft Entra | Microsoft Learn
How to resolve this?
- The IT admin needs to unlock the tenant – option 3 (temporary) “Allow user consent for apps”. Then a Bing Ads user with a work account from that tenant simply logs in to the website (https://ads.microsoft.com), which automatically adds the service.
- Grant consent for Microsoft Advertising - Grant tenant-wide admin consent to an application - Microsoft Entra | Microsoft Learn
Whenever the customer observes the error, please ensure that they have at least one of the admin users from their Azure AAD tenant added and enabled for the work account in the Microsoft Advertising web application (Microsoft Advertising account).
FAQ
1. When will the data appear in my Microsoft Ads account?
Data is processed once a day so that any conversions will appear the day after the call occurred.
2. What calls will trigger conversions?
Delacon will only upload calls where we have captured a Microsoft Click ID (MSCLKID). This will be for paid ads only. Please ensure auto-tagging is enabled in your Microsoft Ads account.
3. Are upload filters available?
No, the integration will upload all calls with a Microsoft Click ID (MSCLKID). The upload can not be customised based on other parameters, eg call duration or IVR option.
